Because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross, the children of God have an infinite amount of happiness and that happiness is forever.
Stop for a second and consider God’s plan for His children: in the presence of God is the fullness of joy! At God’s right hand are pleasures forevermore! That means, that for the child of God, there is no need for more happiness than we already have in Christ. That means that when God saves us and by His grace stirs our affections for the glory of God alone, not only do we live God’s glory but we also experience the most authentic joy possible. Because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross, the children of God have an infinite amount of happiness and that happiness is forever. We will enjoy the maximum amount of joy for the maximum amount of time. That’s God’s plan for you in Christ.
One of the distinguishing marks of the Christian life and of Redemption Church must be joy.
One of the distinguishing marks of the Christian life and of Redemption Church must be joy. Of all the people in the world, it ought to be us, who live lives of joy. We’re the only ones who truly can.
Come join Redemption Church on Sundays this fall and learn about that kind of life… that kind of joy as we study the New Testament letter called Philippians.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.(Philippians 3:13-14)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
