Jan. 22 will be the 41st anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. And Sunday the 19th will be what has come to be known as Sanctity of Life Sunday. This isn’t about politics, this isn’t about guilt-tripping people, and this isn’t about being on a soap-box. Yes there will be people who get political over the next week and there will be guilt-tripping and soap-boxing. But what Redemption Church desires is for God to be glorified and Jesus to be made famous. We believe that protecting the lives of the “least of these”, the marginalized, and the forgotten, is one of the ways we bring glory to God and fame to Christ.
Below you will find a whole bunch of resources. Some of them will be for folks who have yet to make up their mind on this issue, some will be for folks who need to mix a little love in with the truth they so passionately speak about this issue, some will be for folks who need more awareness, and some will be for people who are ready to get some skin in the game when it comes to this issue. Some are for the logical, some for the scientific, some for the emotional, some for the hurting… our prayer is that God will use the resources below to stir a passion in your heart for the sanctity of life, especially for the unborn, and for all humans, made in the image of God.
Science and Abortion:
No matter what the circumstances of conception, no matter how far along in the pregnancy, abortion always ends the life of an individual human being. Every honest abortion advocate concedes this simple fact.

The Bible and Abortion:
My prayer is that anyone involved in the practice of abortion would consider these things very seriously and pray for the faith and the courage to stand for life and love in Jesus Christ.
–Ten Reasons Why it is Wrong to Take The Life of Unborn Children by John Piper (blog post)
No, the utilitarian view of human life has no place in the Christian worldview, and we should give it no place in our efforts against abortion, as powerful or convicting as we think those argument are.

God’s Marvelous Grace, Extravegent Mercy, Gracious Forgiveness, and Abortion:
“Despite what I knew to be true, I only debated briefly. I knew abortion was sinful and wrong. But then again, so was sex before marriage. It was a little too late to be worried about sin. All I knew was that in three weeks I would move to a new town and start a new school. I would go to cheerleading camp and be a normal high school junior full of promise and potential. I would never look back.”
–Redemption From Scars by Kendra Dahl (blog post)
This is not easy to admit and is a struggle to put out there. In my story there is chaos, carelessness, paralyzing fear, chosen blindness, outright rebellion, shame, brokenness, longing, and much more.

You and Abortion (be informed, speak the truth in love, and join the fight):
Existing fetal homicide laws make a man guilty of manslaughter if he kills the baby in a mother’s womb (except in the case of abortion).

Instead of being those on the sideline, we might actually actively engage really what is the most horrific oppression, horrific injustice, horrific genocide the world has ever seen.
–Actively Engaged in The Abortion Battle by Matt Chandler (blog post)
You describe abortion as a “tragic choice.” If abortion is not morally objectionable, then why is it tragic? Does this mean there is something about abortion that is different than other standard surgical procedures?

What if the unborn child, the messy infant, the wobbly toddler, the rambunctious teenager, the college freshman, the blushing bride, the first-time mother, the working woman, the proud grammy, and the demented old friend differ not in kind but only in degree?
